Our Projects

Certified Arizona Master Naturalists contribute to the community through volunteer efforts in three areas: education, stewardship, and community science.  Learn more about past and ongoing projects in each of these areas below!

Education

Community Science

Stewardship

MCPMNs are involved in environmental education projects aimed at participants and learners of all ages. Learn more about the educational programs we develop, produce, and volunteer for!

Stewardship

Community Science

Stewardship

Environmental Stewardship is an important part of our work as Master  Naturalists.  Many of our MNs volunteer for stewardship programs.  Learn more about our Sonoran desert stewardship projects.

Christmas Bird Count

In 2020 Nerdy For Birdies and Maricopa County Master Naturalists ran the first CBC circle for the Phoenix Metro area. Believe it or not, Phoenix and the surrounding cities have not been counted since the early 1900’s. The 2024 count will be held on December 15th.

City Nature Challenge

City Nature Challenge

Volunteers are the foundation of the FrogWatch USA community - these trained individuals listen for frogs and toads during evenings from February through August and submit these observations to a national online database. Monitoring through FrogWatch USA can be an enriching experience that allows one to connect with nature and also contribute to amphibian conservation efforts.
